Advent: Christingles

Our Christianity topic in Primary 6 is ‘Advent’. During this topic, we looked at the meaning of Advent, both commercial and traditional. To enhance our learning and understanding of the topic, we each created a Christingle, which highlights the meaning of Advent to Christians.
The orange represents the world.
The red ribbon represents Jesus’ blood, showing his sacrifice for us.
The cocktails sticks symbolise the four corners of the world.
The candle symbolises the light Jesus brings to the world and our lives.
The sweets and raisins represent Jesus’ gifts of kindness and love.
When the children took their Christingles home, they were able to discuss Advent with their parents.
