Advent

In Primary 6, our Christianity topic is ‘Advent’. We learned all about the meaning behind Advent, and what customs Christians follow at this special time of year. To enhance our learning, we made a Christingle, which highlights the meaning of Advent to Christians in a visual way. We learned that:

· The orange represents the world
· The red ribbon represents Jesus’ blood, showing the sacrifice he made for Christians
· The cocktail sticks represent the 4 corners of the world
· The sweets and raisins represent God’s gifts of love and kindness
· The candle represents the light Jesus brings to the world and the lives of Christians

We took our Christingles home and were able to discuss Advent with our family.
