Edinburgh Castle

Primary 5 had a fantastic school trip to Edinburgh Castle as part of our Jacobites topic. We explored the castle for ourselves. We saw the Scottish Crown Jewels, Jocobite weapons and the prisons in which the Jacobite’s were kept. Later in the afternoon we took part in a workshop called, ‘Jacobites at the Door’. We found out how Bonnie Prince Charlie and his men got into the Castle. We also learned about the daily life of a Hanoverian soldier as well as handle some objects from the Jacobite period. Some of us were lucky enough to dress up and act out the parts of Bonnie Prince Charlie, Jacobite and Honoverian soldiers. A fun day was had by all.
