Health and Wellbeing

Mosshead Primary School received a Health Accreditation Award in April 2007.
The assessors were most impressed by Mosshead Primary's efforts in the area of health promotion and our success on becoming a health promoting school. We were judged on nine aspects of Health Promotion and were awarded the top grade of 6 in each category.
As a school committed to health promotion we have an exciting programme of health-related events planned for throughout the year. This will enhance teaching in specific areas of physical, social and emotional health. These innovative activities will be ongoing throughout the academic session.

Class teachers will continue to make use of outside agencies to augment class work. This learning and teaching, using the expertise available in our local community, will contribute to the qualities featured in Health and Wellbeing, an integral component of Curriculum for Excellence.

Our programme of study will be extended with visits from various professionals:

  • Police Officers
  • Community Police Team
