Illness and Disease: A Co-operative Learning Task

In order to learn about different illnesses and diseases during the Victorian era, we took part in a Co-operative Learning activity, called a ‘jigsaw’. This required us to split from our home team to each research a different thing. As a result, we all became experts in these different parts. We made notes to help us remember what we had researched, then reported back to our home team. This meant that we were able to learn about all of them. The children enjoyed learning about them, although may have been slightly traumatised by some of the images.
