In Mosshead Primary we endeavour to foster a real enthusiasm for music in the widest sense. Our children experience music through singing, playing tuned and untuned percussion as well as listening to a wide variety of music.
In addition to this many of our pupils show a keen interest in learning to play an instrument. We are so fortunate to have music instructors as part of our Mosshead team. Miss Ferguson teaches strings, Mrs Clark teaches woodwind and Mr Thomson teaches brass. With pupils working hard in all these areas it has enabled Mosshead to have its own orchestra which is led so enthusiastically by Miss Ferguson.

We also participate in the Youth Music Initiative, this gives our junior school pupils the oportunity to participate in percussion sessions.

We are most fortunate at Mosshead Primary to have our own specialist music teacher. Mrs Carlyle works in Mosshead each week delivering the music curriculum in an enthusiastic and enjoyable manner that fully engages our pupils. Mrs Carlyle also tutors our choir and works very hard to prepare our pupils for all public performances throughout the year.
