Mosshead is delighted to have achieved all 5 elements of the national STEM Nation Award. You can see our evidence and achievements on our STEM Nation PowerPoint.

Education Scotland launched their STEM Nation Award in May 2022 to promote and celebrate work in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. There was an initial pilot in 2019/20 but the project was then put on hold until May 2022 due to Covid.
Mosshead Primary is the first school in EDC and part of the first group of school settings to be awarded the STEM Nation Award post pandemic. 3 years of extensive development work in STEM was showcased to Education Scotland and we have been awarded all 5 elements of the award.
The Education Scotland validation team said "It was wonderful to hear of the impact of STEM within Mosshead for practitioners and learners, In particular skills development, confidence and leadership opportunities shone through with STEM being an integrated part of the curriculum."
A huge thank you to our Young STEM leaders (YSL) who have played a significant role in this work and a couple of them were also part of the team presenting the evidence to Education Scotland. Our STEM developments will continue to run with this year's focus being on Maths.
